London Heathrow

After a 45 minute flight we arrived at London Heathrow at about 8 am, local time. The gate where our next flight was leaving was still unknown so we decided to go look for a place to eat.

We had a quick breakfast at Wagamama restaurant. Then rushed to terminal T5B via a transit train. Once there we had just enough time to go to the toilet before boarding the next flight.

Start of a long day

Gooooood morning everyone!

After trying to get some sleep before leaving home, we got up at 3 am. We loaded the luggage on to the backseat of our 'luxurious and spacious' rented Hyundaiand left for Schiphol. Leaving our hometown while listening to Bob Seger's Turn the Page on the radio, I felt ready to take on this journey around the world. 'Here I am, on the road again.' As if I'm ready to take on a new adventure. Though the road wasn't that exciting. The lanes were empty and the closest we got to a 'traffic jam' was when we crossed the river Maas. A whopping 8 cars on the road; though I was kind of sleepy so it could've been 7.

After a drive of a little over an hour, we arrived at Schiphol Airport with hardly any ice on the roads, but still some on the car. Walking for what seemed to be an endless hike we finally arived at the Arrivals Hall where we could drop off the car keys of the rental car.

Checked in at British Airways and found our way to the KPN hotspot where I am writing this blog. Next stop: London.
